MGA’s Advancement Office is responsible for school fundraising, as well as all alumnae relations. Fundraising initiatives include the MGA Annual Fund, the annual Auction, Corporate Sponsorships, the Run for Hope and many others. Activities and mailings are coordinated through the office with the active participation of several students and volunteers.

Regardless of your affiliation with The Maine Girls’ Academy, Catherine McAuley High School, Cathedral High School or St. Joseph’s Academy, or if you are a current parent, alumna parent, or a friend of the school, you know the value of all-girls’ education. At MGA, we take pride in the stewardship of the dollars donated by our supporters. We provide our students with an environment that encourages excellence in academics, holistic growth and development and service to our community.

The full cost of an Academy education is not covered completely by tuition and fees. Tuition covers 76% of the education and experience here at MGA. The role of the Advancement Office is to solicit charitable gifts to bridge the gap between school revenues and the actual cost of operating the school. These contributions are essential to the funding of the school’s programs, campus needs and capital improvements.

The Advancement Office seeks both unrestricted and restricted (i.e. given for a specific purpose) gifts from a wide range of constituencies, including alumnae, parents, Trustees, grandparents, foundations and businesses.
