Congratulations to McAuley’s Lady Lions, who have recently been recognized for their outstanding accomplishments in our winter sports arenas.

Placing fifth overall at the Southwestern swim meet in Westbrook, each member of the McAuley Swim Team swam her best time ever.  The 400 Free Relay team of Taylor Church ’13, Audrey Thames ’13, Libby Gajewski ’13 and Katie Call ’15 not only swam their fastest time ever, they worked together to win the final event of the meet by two seconds.  More recently, McAuley swimmers also placed fifth at the Class B state meet in Orono.

McAuley Basketball saw success on the court by capturing its third straight Western Maine Class A title in a victory against Cheverus , 47-36.  McAuley (20-0) will challenge Bangor (17-4) for the state championship title this Saturday, March 2 at the Augusta Civic Center (4 PM).  Ticket sales for McAuley students and families begin February 26. Ticket sales for the general public begin February 28 in the McAuley Lobby.  All tickets are general admission – $8 for adults and $5 for students and seniors.

Kudos are also extended to the Indoor Track Team and to Elsa Curran ’14, who scored sixth in the shot put competition at the state meet at Bates College, to Anna Dube, who represented McAuley at the Nordic ski competition, and to the McAuley cheerleaders for leading us through a successful season.

Go, Lions!
