Up for a challenge?

On October 8, 2013, Catherine McAuley’s Social Action Club welcomed volunteers from Project FEED, who asked for our help in obtaining frozen turkeys for their clients this Thanksgiving. To date, the pantry already has requests for 125 frozen turkeys.

The Social Action Club has accepted the challenge to collect frozen turkeys and to deliver them to Project FEED on Monday, November 25. If you are able to contribute, turkeys are to be brought into the rear of the Lion’s Den on Monday morning, November 25.

Project FEED (Food Emergency Exchange Depot) is an emergency food pantry located in Portland, Maine in the basement of Woodfords Congregational UCC Church.  Project FEED was founded in 1975 by a group of clergy and lay-people concerned with the growing number of Portland residents who were without a reliable source of food in emergencies.  For more information see
