The 8th annual 5k Run for Hope will take place Saturday, May 17th at 10:00am at Catherine McAuley High School.  Entrants may participate in a 5K USATF Certified Run at 10:00am or a 2.5 mile walk at 10:15am. Pre- registration is $15 and closes May 16th. Participants may also register on the day of the race for $20 starting at 8:00am.

Race t-shirts will be available for the first 250 entrants. Pledges are due on race day, and the highest pledge total wins Red Sox tickets. A post-race gathering will begin at McAuley at 11:00am with refreshments and music.   All proceeds benefit the Jim and Maxine Pouravelis Scholarship Fund.

The Jim and Maxine Pouravelis Scholarship Fund was established in December of 2006 by family and friends in memory of James and Maxine Pouravelis, two devoted and vibrant members of the McAuley community. They passed away within two months of each other to cancer in the summer of 2006.  Even in sickness, with a powerful faith and steadfast love of family and friends, they remained sure and firm in their hope.  The Run for Hope proceeds go towards a scholarship fund that will provide financial assistance to young women seeking an education at CatherineMcAuleyHigh School, an education Jim and Maxine saw as essential to the intellectual, athletic, and spiritual development of young women.

If you cannot run in the race, please consider sponsoring a participant or making a tax deductible donation to the scholarship fund.
