Over Columbus Day weekend, Sarah Schnupp ’16 and her family were invited to assist at a HANGI for the New Zealand Embassy. This event is a traditional New Zealand celebration that consists of preparing traditional foods, cooking them in a “pit” in the ground and a rugby game.  It was held in Canterbury, NH at the home of Simon Leeming, the Honorary Consul for New England and a New Zealand native.

Sarah assisted in the preparation of the HANGI pit, food preparation and the rugby game. During this event, she had the opportunity to meet Ambassador Mike Moore of New Zealand, who has served both as Prime Minister of New Zealand and Director-General of the World Trade Organization.
What an amazing opportunity, Sarah!
